They are pretty fun to make and for the most part, this is just a joke so don’t get all offended because you’ve decided to give your undying loyalty to a book. For the most part, I like the idea of the story, but I couldn’t get past reading the first chapter. And I really did force myself to keep reading. I usually judge a book by the first paragraph, the writing style usually lets me know how much I’d like the rest of the book. I wasn’t impressed with The Hunger Games, but everyone loves it so much so I kept reading until the end of chapter one. Personally speaking, the writing style was boring and didn’t have me wanting more. Luckily, the movie is coming out, so that takes care of a lot of forced reading. But ya, I can at least say I understand this popularity. Twilight is something I will never accept nor understand. I put my feelings for Twilight up there with The Jersey Shore and The Kardashians. Y you make no sense?

I haven’t read the Hunger Games, but putting it in the same category as Twilight warns me to stay away. To be honest, though, neither of these books is written for our age category. I only stayed away from the Hunger Games, because it was too similar conceptually to Battle Royale, which is a great book. Twilight was terrible, but popular, because it was written for maladjusted teenagers. Anything popular is just catering to the laws of supply and demand. But yeah, YA fiction is not generally written to compete with literary giants. Going in with that expectation is just foolish.
Oh no, I do wanna make sure I’m not saying that I have clumped The Hunger Games with Twilight. Twilight had everything wrong with it while The Hunger Games just had poor writing style. But ya, Battle Royal was absolutely brilliant.
